Combination Treatments using the Sciton THERMASCAN™ and the
PRO-FRACTIONAL™ set a new standard in the treatment of acne, acne scarring, scar revision and several other skin conditions.
What is Thermascan for Acne?
ThermaScan's non-ablative infrared energy will allow your physician to
precisely treat acne and to soften the
resulting scars from previous acne.
One of the most outstanding features of this treatment is that there is virtually no discomfort or downtime associated with the procedure. After a session, the area treated may appear red for up to an hour. No wound is created, therefore, there is no healing time required.

ThermaScan is also extremely effective in treating atrophic acne scars. Clinical studies suggest that at least one to two treatments are needed to see results. Most of the patients will see results after the first treatment. Typically patients will receive 2 treatments per week thereafter until acne clears. Your physician will recommend the best options for you
What is Fractional Resurfacing?
For Fractional resurfacing we use the Sciton Pro-Fractional device. This treatment creates microscopic channels into the skin. The laser energy stimulates the skin to produce collagen. The surface of the skin is left partially intact and the healing time is significantly reduced.
For Acne Scarring, our Sciton Pro-Fractional resurfacing technology produces outstanding results in as little 3 treatments as seen in the photos above. This affordable technology has revolutionized Acne Scarring treatments. In the past CO2 resurfacing was painful, expensive and the recovery time was often weeks! Now with Fractional resurfacing using the Erbium 2940nm wavelength, down time and pain are minimized. Recovery time is days not weeks! This is one of the most gratifying advances in cosmetic medicine. Acne Scarring treatments have come long way in the last few years.
What can I expect with Fractional Resurfacing?
Typically you will experience some redness that will resolve within a few hours. Since results vary depending on patient condition, number of treatments and area treated, your physician will provide you with all the complete information about the post treatment effects and results.
During the procedure your eyes will be protected with safety shields or glasses. You may feel a warming of the skin or a rubber band snap like sensation as the laser energy is absorbed by the targeted areas. Your procedure takes between 15 and 45 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated and the type and depth of the procedure performed.
It is important to follow your physician's instructions. You may be given some skin care products and instructions on how to use them. This will minimize your risk of inflammation or redness and ensure the shortest healing time. You will be sensitive to ultra-violet light and you must avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed. Fully cover your skin or use a good sun screen whenever you go outdoors.
